Specific Impulse Inc. Adds Advanced Visitor Tracking and Registration to StageOne™

Web Pages Can Now Track Anonymous Visitor Activity, Pay-Per-Click Performance, and Visitor Registration Conversions

Silicon Valley, California - November 4, 2003 -

Specific Impulse today announced the release of new features in their StageOne™ marketing automation system that provide detailed visitor tracking and improved visitor registration.

StageOne now enables web pages to record the activities of individual visitors, using an anonymous ID stored in a cookie. Reports then show how individuals moved through the web site, where they went and how long they stayed on each page.

When a visitor registers or otherwise identifies themselves, typically just by clicking to the site from an email message, StageOne replaces the anonymous ID with the visitor's email address. That email address is tied to the person's complete contact data record.

"StageOne reveals the history of what a person did on your site even before they registered, while they were still anonymous. The system is very powerful for companies who care about the individuals who visit their site. General traffic pattern reporting from web server log data, the most common site reporting today, only show trends and statistics. Our reports watch individuals, and are more appropriate for sites that care about the behavior of each visitor," explains Specific Impulse president Rich Julius.

StageOne-powered web sites can also now track the performance of individual search engine keywords, such as those managed in Google and Overture pay-per-click systems, down to the level of each visitor to the a site. Simply by adding a special string to the keyword's landing page URL, StageOne records which keyword a visitor used to find the site. Reports show where each visitor went on the site, and whether a keyword is delivering visitors that really spend time in the web site.

"Instead of knowing what a keyword cost, you now know how a keyword really performs," says Julius. "This enables you to eliminate expensive search keywords that generate fly-by visitors, in favor of keywords that produce truly interested visitors."

Because many visitors come to a site from search or email campaigns, StageOne integrates visitor registration with the StageOne Broadcast email campaign system. This provides a single contact database that records everything about a visitor, enabling self-registration and opt-out.

Anonymous visitors are also tracked from landing pages, typically used in traditional print, radio, or billboard campaigns, or from links on a partner's web site. This data is tied to a visitor record in the same manner as search keywords, enabling marketing managers to know the actual response rates of any marketing campaign, while delivering individual leads to the sales staff.

StageOne is available directly from Specific Impulse. For details, visit www.specific-impulse.com or call 1-800-470-0043.
